Rejoice, and again I say, rejoice!
I have so much to rejoice about and be grateful for.
I give thanks...
For the youth, liveliness, and growth - in both numbers and spirit - of our congregation.
For the nearly 50 young children who grace our community with their vibrant and cheerful presence on Sunday mornings.
For the devoted cadre of Church School teachers who provide nurture and education, and then join us in the sanctuary to participate in the Eucharistic sacrament.
For our commitment to justice work, the legacy of Abolitionist conviction, emblemized by our Black Madonna stained glass window.
For our continued commitment to justice for all GLBT people.
For our variety of outreach endeavors, particularly Angel Food Ministries, and its new leadership team.
For our tradition of arts outreach, which now is comprised of two music programs of outstanding quality: JP Concerts., a yearlong, frequent, eclectic, series of concerts; and Night Song, a monthly service combining medieval sung Compline and contemporary jazz.
For our hospitality to a 12 step group, a yoga group, a JP Mom's group, and the opening of our parish hall for occasional neighborhood group meetings.
For the joy and vibrancy of the Pine Village Preschool, who provide a much-needed service in the neighborhood and enhance our historic buildings with their presence throughout the week.
For the host of other leaders: Vestry and Wardens, choir, altar guild and ministers, Hospitality, Finance, Buildings and Grounds, Church School and Grant Writing committee members, our new Green Team, and our recently formed Capital Campaign committee.
For my marvelous colleagues, Linda Kernohan and Emily Engeland, who make my job not only immeasurably easier, but also fun and creative.
And most of all, for the great honor and blessing of serving as your priest and rector, now these 18 years.
Faithfully,
Anne +
