ST. JOHN’S PARISH NEWS
SAVE THE DATE:
Yoga class in the Parish Hall: Mondays, 6:30-7:30 pm
Drop in, 5$ cash only per class
FIRST FOOD SUNDAYS:
Please bring non-perishable donations to contribute to the JP Food Pantry at First Church the First Sunday of every month. Our friends at First Church appreciate our efforts to support this ministry. This is also an important part of the middle school Sunday School children’s outreach, as they take the food over to the food pantry once collected.
Cash contributions are always welcomed and are used to buy fresh produce. Checks made payable to First Church JP.
FAMILY FRIENDLY FIRST SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE:
Join us the first Sunday of each month (September-June) for a family friendly service. We worship as a parish family together while we sing, pray and hear the stories of Scripture together.
FIRST FRIDAY INTERGENERATIONAL FAMILY NIGHT:
Come together with fellow parishioners of all ages for fun, faith and fellowship! We gather at 6 pm, celebrate a child-friendly Holy Communion service for children and the child in us all, share a potluck and pizza dinner (suggested donation of $5 towards the pizza) and then gather for intergenerational and group activities.
2016 ALTAR FLOWER DONATIONS:
The new 2016 Flower Donation Chart is now posted at the back of the Parish Hall and available for weekly sign ups. Please make checks payable to St. John’s for $30.00 and place in the offertory plate (marked ‘flowers’ in the memo line) or you can also give your check to Georgia Buck. There is a flower guild that purchases flowers each Sunday so you just need to make payment and state your intention (in memory of, in honor of, in celebration of, a family member or loved one). Your intention will be written in the bulletin and when possible be included in the Prayers of the People that Sunday.
MONTHLY VESTRY MINUTES:
St. John’s typically holds it’s monthly vestry meeting the third Wednesday of each month. You can review the handouts and materials from each month’s meeting in the folder available in the back of the narthex at church.
