St. John's enjoys a very active and friendly parish life. Throughout the year you can look forward to several events centered on shared meals such as the fall Progressive Dinner, the Christmas Party, the Annual Meeting in January, Pancake Supper on Shrove Tuesday, the Silent Auction in May, and the Sunday School Picnic in June, as well as Newcomer Brunches, Vestry parties, etc.
St. John's is also deeply committed to social justice and frequently supports local event and activities as a parish such as the Bishop's walk to protest global warming, the annual Pride parade, various interfaith services and events in support of equal marriage, the upcoming Las Posadas during Advent - celebrating the culture of our immigrant populations - among many other activities. See our Outreach & Advocacy section for more on St. John's commitment to social justice and green living.
St. John's also offers a wide range of opportunities to contribute to our parish community while enjoying the company and friendship of other parishioners. We host regular work days (the third Saturday of every month) which are a great way to get involved. And, we are always in need of volunteers for our December Christmas Tree Sale, our spring Silent Auction, and various other fundraisers and community events throughout the year. Contact a member of the parish leadership to find out more about how you might volunteer to have great time with some great people at St. John's.
