>> ABOUT THE CONCERT

Alma Antigua is a trio exploring original music and arrangement of existing compositions from the Mediterranean regions ,Latin America and the Middle East in a chamber jazz context, while maintaining the connection to its folkloric roots. The combination of soulful and haunting melodies with modes and resonances from these geographical areas creates a very original springboard for creative improvisation, moving musical dialogs and passionate interpretations.

>> ABOUT THE GROUP

The trio is comprised of Marco Pignataro-soprano/tenor sax, John Muratore-classical guitar and Naseem Alatrash-cello. Each player brings his own lifelong experiences in music-making to create a unique sound that embodies the intimacy of chamber music and the the spontaneity of jazz.
